Many who will read this article will say, "My Unlawful Detainer took 3 weeks and the judge didn't listen to a word I wrote or said. Well mine took 6 weeks, only because I had been a real estate broker and a mortgage company co-owner for over 20 years and an investor in real estate for over 40 years.
I was able to hold out 3 extra weeks because as a mortgage Broker/Owner and Co-Owner of a home loan brokerage I knew what was going on. (Mortgage Broker is the wrong term. I don't care how often it is used. In 26 states you sign a promissory note and a deed of trust. In most if not all non-judicial states a judicial loan using a mortgage is legal, but why would a lender go to court and have to prove you owed him money, when he can foreclose non-judicially out on the lawn in the sunshine with no judge and no court.)
In the end I knew that the judge had not even read what I wrote or said and he ruled on his intuition. If you are a long time reader of mine you know that no judge is allowed to rule on his intuition.
Many people have asked why I stopped trying to help. Because I know all of the law that any of you do and most probably much more. But, my judges and yours aren't reading the laws you researched and then wrote (almost surely correctly).
A law is only a law if it is enforced. No matter how brilliant of a case or statute you have found, it is of no value to you if you can not make a judge enforce it.

It is now December 1st, 2022 after 14 months of a Benton County, Missouri Judge doing nothing but setting more hearings 3 months off for an eviction of occupants who had no written rights of any kind, this judge looked at me at another hearing with the recorder running and said, "Mr. Hammond I am not going to rule on your case until you get an attorney. The US constitution, The US Supreme Court, the Missouri Supreme Court, Missouri Landlord Tenant Law and Missouri Statute all say that
YOU MAY REPRESENT YOURSELF IN COURT
This was 3 weeks ago. There will obviously be more for me to tell you. I will include the judges name and some more question for all of us. It is coming to a hullabaloo very soon.
